Parent involvement
Since a child’s earliest experiences occur in the home, and parental interest and involvement in these experiences is significant to a child’s development, a co-operative effort by parents and child care educators is essential in providing continuity from the home to the centre. Acknowledgment of children’s individual needs and shared decision making in regard to these needs is an important part of our day to day communication with families.
Ways of being involved:
-
Participating in daily events such as art & craft, reading stories, singing songs or sharing a skill with a group of children.
-
Attending the centre’s social events and information evenings
-
Contributing ideas and suggestions for our programs
-
Contributing to the centre’s Quality Improvement Plan
